May 23, 2007 Update:
This sweet dog is still at the shelter waiting for her new forever home. We only fostered her for two weeks, because we were falling so in-love with her. She has been at the shelter quite a while now. She is such a good dog, that the shelter lets her hang out in the lobby and greet everyone. She has been doing great on her heartworm treatment. I hope to visit with her again soon. I just thought my friends here would like an update on her. The last time I saw her she was big! She filled out nicely, not skinny like when we first met her. She is such a happy dog. Let's keep our fingers crossed that she finds a home soon!
This is sweet Cinnamon. She is a 12-year old Doberman that I am fostering for a few days for the Humane Society. She desperately needs a forever home and her age may make it hard for her to find one. We have had her for two days now, and I cannot begin to describe how sweet and gentle this dog is! She has no bad habits, is housebroken, loves to go for walks, and just wants to be by your side. We have left her alone for several hours, and she did fine.
I can tell you from experience, that adopting an old dog is very rewarding. I adopted a 13 year old greyhound 3 years ago, Essie, and she gave us her love for over two years before she died. She was well over 15 when we had to say goodbye to her. The two years I had her were magical. I feel honored that I got to have her in my life.
I believe this sweet dog, Cinnamon, has a few years left in her and that whoever adopts her will enjoy the rewards of having such a loving, intelligent, and beautiful dog. If anyone is interested in her, or knows of someone who might be, contact me and I will put you in touch with the Shelter.
Update, Feb. 20th: Cinnamon saw the vet today. It turns out she is only 8 years old, but she has heartworm. We are waiting until the decision makers at the shelter return in early March to see if they will approve funding for her treatment. I think they will, because she is much younger than what they thought. So that is good news. We are fostering her for at least another couple of weeks until she gets treatment. She has already gained 5 pounds and she has only been with us 4 days! This is great news! Thanks to everyone for your warm wishes.

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
